100th Black Belt World Black Belt Testing, Knightdale, NC - SMAA Closed, December 10 - 11, 2010 (Open Dec 13); If you are able, please plan to attend this event. Not only will over 30 students be testing to receive their next black belt, but several masters will be testing for promotion, as well. This should be a spectacular event and a lot of fun for everyone!

New Year's Holiday - SMAA Closed, December 31, 2010 - January 1, 2011 (Open Jan 3)
Annual Black Belt World Festival - SMAA Closed, April 14 - 16, 2011 (Open April 18); Two major reasons to attend this event! 1. Instructor Smith will be testing for his 3rd degree black belt. 2. The festival is a LOT of FUN and VERY EDUCATIONAL! All participants enjoy and benefit so much from this event. PLEASE plan to attend! It is months away, but everyone should begin to plan now. Once Grandmaster Lee arranges the group discount rate for the hotel and release the sign-up form, I will let everyone know. If we have enough participation, SMAA may charter a bus to attend the event instead of everyone having to drive. MORE INFOMARTION TO COME IN THE NEAR FUTURE!
SMAA After-School Care Status: Instructor Smith is still waiting on the State of Georgia approval for the after-school program. Once approved it will be offered to students at Due West and Still Elementary. If we get more interested parents for Kemp Elementary we will substitute Kemp for Still. MORE INFORMATION TO COME!!!
Please check out our NEW WEBSITE next week, November 24, 2010. Also, Instructor Smith is working on a Student Only Resource website that will contain videos of all of the poomses, one-step self defense moves, breaking techniques, etc. Instructor Smith plans to cover the entire Black Belt World curriculum in video to assist students and parents. A link to the new site will be provided once it is functioning properly.

Martial Arts Convention - SMAA Closed, November 4 - 6, 2010 (Open Nov 8)

TENTATIVE Holiday Pot Luck - December 18, 2010. Instructor Smith would like to have a pot luck at SMAA to celebrate the holidays and the school's one (1) year anniversary. Along with the pot luck, Instructor Smith would like to give out the prizes earned for the Referral Contest that we will begin shortly. He is narrowing down the list of prizes now. The only one that is a definite at this moment is for 10+ referrals, the student will receive a Wave Master (free standing kicking target like the ones at SMAA).

Grandmaster Jun Lee Visits SMAA
I would like to give a sincere thanks to Grandmaster Jun Lee for taking time out of busy schedule during his visit to Atlanta to stop by and meet the students of Smith's Martial Arts Academy. Grandmaster Lee is an avid supporter of the success of SMAA and Instructor Smith. His guidance and advice has been extremely benefit to our growth.
Also, thank you to the students and parents who were able to take time out of their schedules to meet Grandmaster Lee. The students of SMAA make this journey worthwhile. I would not trade any of them for the world. Thank you everyone!!!
